DevOps Engineer
Location: London (3 days onsite)
Type: Permanent
Salary: £65k - £70k (possibly higher for the right candidate)
Key Responsibilities
* Deploy, install, and configure .NET and other web applications.
* Manage SQL Server databases, permissions, backups, and script deployments.
* Perform structured releases across DEV, TEST, and PRD environments.
* Configure and manage virtualized servers (e.g., VMWare) with performance tuning.
* Install and support packaged applications such as BizTalk, Dynamics CRM, and Pega.
* Maintain deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting documentation.
* Monitor systems, logs, backups, and server resources; ensure availability and integrity.
* Administer Active Directory: users, groups, and service accounts.
* Assist with disaster recovery planning, testing, and out-of-hours deployments.
* Identify automation opportunities in deployments, maintenance, and environment refreshes.
* Collaborate with engineering, QA, and platform teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines.
* Develop CI/CD policies, standards, and training materials.

* Application deployment/configuration experience
* Background in development, testing, or support
* Strong troubleshooting and stakeholder management skills
* Build and deployment pipeline creation and maintenance
* Automation experience
* Windows Server, SQL Server Management Studio
* IIS and Apache Tomcat
* Virtualization (VMWare)
* Package management (CloudSmith, Artifactory)
* Containers: Minikube, Docker, Kubernetes
* CI/CD with SAST/SCA
* DevOps tools: Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, AWS CI/CD, TeamCity, OctopusDeploy
* Terraform, Ansible
* PowerShell scripting
* Azure & AWS fundamentals
