We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Teacher to join a friendly and supportive primary school in Watford. This is a key role within Key Stage 1, supporting pupils as they consolidate their learning and prepare for the transition into Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, well-structured lessons across the Year 2 curriculum, with a strong focus on developing literacy and numeracy skills. You will create a calm, positive, and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel confident, supported, and motivated to succeed. Assessment will be central to your practice. You will use formative and summative assessment to track progress, identify gaps in learning, and plan targeted support and interventions. Differentiation will ensure all pupils, including those with SEND or EAL, can access learning and make strong progress. You will work closely with teaching assistants and other Key Stage 1 colleagues to ensure consistency and high standards across the year group. The role includes supporting pupils with end-of-key-stage expectations while maintaining a nurturing and encouraging approach. This position is suitable for ECTs or experienced teachers with strong Key Stage 1 practice.
