Description As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank, Rates trade management team, you will be part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, designing, and delivering software solutions for the Rates business in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. In this role, you will actively engage in executing software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting phases, while acquiring the skills and experience necessary for career advancement. Job responsibilities Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting Writes secure and high-quality code with limited guidance Designs, develops, codes, and troubleshoots with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and non-functional requirements. Applies technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical tasks Gathers, analyses, and draws conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making in service of secure, stable application development Learns and applies system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect Works closely with Trading, Quantitative Research, Sales and Middle Office teams to deliver quality code in a fast paced environment Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills Formal training or certification on Python concepts and expanding applied experience Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages Demonstrated ability to code in one or more languages Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills Prior experience in Python is helpful but not required. Experience with Javascript/React helpful but not required
