About the Company: We are a dynamic, fast-growing property tech and franchising business based in Warrington. We're passionate about revolutionising property investment through innovative technology, expert guidance, and a commitment to empowering investors at every level. Our small, close-knit finance team plays a pivotal role in supporting business growth, driving efficiencies, and preparing for future opportunities. We are looking for a proactive and technically capable Assistant Management Accountant to support the Head of Finance in delivering accurate, timely financial information and contributing to continuous improvement across the finance function. Key Responsibilities • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts. • Post and manage journals, prepayments, accruals, reclassifications, and intercompany recharges across the group companies. • Perform bank reconciliations and oversee the purchase ledger and sales ledger functions, ensuring timely processing and query resolution. • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and contribute to rolling forecasts. • Collaborate closely with the Head of Finance during the month-end close process, helping to streamline and improve the current 5-day close timeline for faster, more accurate reporting. • Work with internal stakeholders and teams across the business to identify procedures for continuous improvement, service optimisation, and better financial controls. • Carry out ad-hoc project work as required to support wider business objectives (e.g., system enhancements, acquisition support prep, or franchise performance analysis). • Handle customer and supplier queries via phone and email, maintaining strong relationships and resolving issues efficiently. • Contribute to general ledger maintenance, compliance checks, and ad-hoc reporting. The Successful Candidate Will Be: • Experienced in preparing management accounts (or strong exposure to month-end processes). • Confident and accurate with accruals, prepayments, journals, and intercompany accounting. • Proactive with excellent spreadsheet skills (advanced Excel essential) and ideally experienced in Xero accounting software. • AAT qualified (or equivalent) and actively studying towards further qualifications (e.g., CIMA, ACCA) with a genuine desire to progress. • Purchase and sales ledger experience desirable but not essential. • Bring an inquisitive, problem-solving mindset: investigate variances, identify root causes, and proactively suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Benefits • Competitive salary with annual review. • Early finish on Fridays. • 25 days annual holiday plus bank holidays. • Additional holiday entitlement: 1 day per year of service after 2 years, up to 10 extra days. • Genuine progression opportunity to Management Accountant role as the business grows. • Full study support for professional qualifications (e.g., CIMA/ACCA progression). • Employer pension contribution. If you're a detail-oriented, enthusiastic finance professional eager to make a real impact in a growing SME, we'd love to hear from you.
