Shape the Future.The Head of The Prebendal School seeks to appoint a talented, organised and inspirational Deputy Head to join our Senior Leadership Team from September 2026.This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious leader to play a pivotal role in one of the country’s most distinctive preparatory schools. Today we are a thriving co-educational day and boarding preparatory school for pupils aged 3–13.Our close relationship with Chichester Cathedral shapes our identity and enriches school life. Prebendal offers small classes, strong pastoral care and exceptional co-curricular opportunities within a supportive and ambitious community.Music holds a central place in our culture. Over 95% of pupils receive individual instrumental tuition, many study multiple instruments, and a significant proportion of leavers are awarded music scholarships to leading senior schools each year.Contract Type: Full Time/Part Time both considered, Permanent.Salary: Depending on experienceStart Date: Sep 2026As Deputy Head, you will:· Support the Head in the overall leadership and management of the school· Deputise for the Head in all matters as required· Play a central role within the Senior Management Team· Contribute significantly to pastoral leadership, working alongside the Head and Chaplain to ensure outstanding care for pupils and staff· Lead on staff duties, cover arrangements, induction and key operational matters· Oversee aspects of school organisation including the calendar, registration and public events· Take an active role in the school’s appraisal programme and recruitment of teaching staffThe role includes a teaching commitment.
