Role Overview
As Maintenance Manager, this role holds responsibility for the overall maintenance, safety and presentation of the home, ensuring a high standard is maintained for residents, visitors and staff.
The position oversees all day to day maintenance operations, including planned maintenance, reactive repairs and compliance checks. This includes fire safety systems, alarms, water safety and general building maintenance, ensuring regulatory requirements are consistently met.
Alongside hands on maintenance tasks such as basic electrical, plumbing and general repairs, the role includes managing maintenance schedules, monitoring records and ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date. Responsibility also includes supporting small improvement works within the home, ensuring minimal disruption to residents.
The role involves managing external contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard, while maintaining effective control of materials and resources. Internal and external areas of the home must be maintained to ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment at all times.
This is a varied and responsible role requiring a proactive, organised and practical individual who can work independently, prioritise effectively and respond to the needs of a busy care environment. Participation in an on call rota is required.
What We Are Looking For
* Proven experience in a maintenance or facilities role, ideally with supervisory responsibility
* Strong practical skills across general maintenance including basic electrical and plumbing
* Good understanding of health and safety and compliance requirements
* Ability to manage workload, contractors and maintenance schedules effectively
* Reliable, organised and committed to maintaining high standards
