Job Description
Turner & Townsend alinea are looking for Assistant Cost Managers to join our dynamic award-winning Cost Management team in our Cambridge Office, working within Turner & Townsend alinea's Real Estate team.

Applicants must demonstrate consultancy experience and hold professional membership of the RICS or be working towards it.
Job Objectives
1. Assist in feasibility studies and procurement report writing
2. Estimate and perform cost planning, including producing and presenting final cost plans
3. Manage tendering and procurement processes, including pre-qualification, tender analysis, and contractual documentation
4. Handle post-contract cost variances and change control, escalating major changes as necessary
5. Conduct cost checks and valuations on projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
6. Produce and present monthly post-contract cost reports to clients
7. Contribute to value engineering initiatives
8. Negotiate and finalize accounts
9. Coordinate with clients and consultants at all project stages
10. Lead a cost management team when appropriate, ensuring delivery of responsibilities
Qualifications
1. Strong technical background in cost management and contracting
2. Experience as a Commission Manager on small to medium projects or relevant experience for progression to this role
3. Knowledge of procurement methods for small to medium-sized buildings
4. Understanding of value engineering
5. Proficiency with industry-standard processes and systems (IT and others)
6. Professional qualification (RICS or similar)
7. Degree or HNC qualification
8. Ability to manage multiple projects effectively
