At JBC, we believe that great engineering thrives in a supportive, forward-thinking environment. That’s why we invest in our people with regular team meetings, ongoing training, and opportunities to progress. You’ll be part of a collaborative group of engineers who combine independence in the field with a strong sense of teamwork and pride in delivering exceptional service.

The Role

As a BMS Service and Commissioning Engineer at JBC Control Systems, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring every system we deliver performs exactly as it should - efficiently, reliably, and safely. You’ll take projects from installation through to commissioning, testing, and client handover, representing JBC’s reputation for quality and professionalism at every stage.

You’ll:

* Commission, service, and optimise a range of JBC BMS systems, ensuring all installations meet design and operational standards.
* Integrate 3rd-party systems using Modbus, M-Bus, and BACnet protocols to create seamless, fully functional control environments.
* Carry out system testing, fault diagnosis, and calibration, ensuring all hardware and software operate as intended.
* Produce detailed commissioning reports, test documentation, and as-fitted drawings, providing a clear record of system performance.
* Collaborate closely with project managers, service coordinators, and clients, keeping everyone informed on progress and performance.
* Deliver client training and system demonstrations, ensuring end users understand and can confidently operate their BMS systems.
* Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, system optimisation, and overall building performance.
* Support, guide, and mentor junior engineers, sharing your technical expertise and contributing to their development.
* Back-engineer or modify software strategies and graphics where required, maintaining accuracy and functionality.
* Ensure high standards of safety, compliance, and documentation on every project you work on.

About You

You’ll have a background in BMS, controls, or building automation, with strong fault-finding skills and a logical approach to problem solving. What matters most is your ability to work independently, think creatively, and maintain the high standards JBC is known for.

You’re the kind of person who enjoys autonomy on site but values being part of a supportive team that shares knowledge and celebrates success together. You’ll take ownership of your projects, be confident in your decisions, and maintain the high standards that JBC Control Systems is known for.

You’ll need to have:

* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* A good understanding of electrical or control system schematics
* Experience commissioning, servicing, or maintaining BMS or HVAC control systems
