A bit about the role We're seeking a Children’s Services Manager to join our dynamic team. As Children's Services Manager, you will have operational responsibility for a cluster of services based in Worcestershire and some services in surrounding counties. Services include Family Hubs, Emotional wellbeing services for young people in schools and outreach Parenting support. You will provide effective leadership inspiring and motivating your team to hold the highest aspirations for children, young people and families across Worcestershire. You will work closely with a range of partners and commissioners to ensure compliance and excellence in all elements of service delivery. We will actively support you in your role and provide you with specialist training, development, and supervision. A bit about the Services in the cluster Family Hubs A commissioned service providing holistic support for families with children aged 0–19 across five hubs in South Worcestershire. The service offers both group-based and one-to-one interventions, coordinating multi-agency support through a networked approach. Interventions are tailored to address emotional, social, physical, and financial challenges, guided by local data and intelligence to meet community needs effectively. MELO/Blues Programme A commissioned emotional wellbeing service delivered in partnership across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. It provides group-based support in schools and community settings, focusing on early intervention and mental health promotion. Additionally, a standalone project in Sandwell- funded through voluntary income - delivers group work in primary schools, enhancing emotional resilience in younger children. Safer Homes Team An externally funded initiative offering home-based parenting support in collaboration with the Family Hubs team. This service focuses on strengthening parenting capacity and creating safer home environments, contributing to the wider safeguarding and early help agenda. How you’ll help to create brighter futures. Leading, motivating and managing staff to deliver high quality services Collaborating with others to build and maintain strong local partnerships to expand our service offer and reach Fostering inclusivity in both workplace culture and service delivery Driving excellence in safeguarding by overseeing robust procedures and promoting the protection of children, young people, and families Adopting innovative, flexible, and creative approaches to ensure the efficient use of resources across all levels and aspects of service delivery Identifying funding opportunities and working collaboratively with central teams to secure continued funding for externally funded projects Let’s talk about you. Our job description for the Children’s Services Manager outlines the requirements of the role but the must-haves are: An NVQ level 5 qualification in leadership and management or equivalent Extensive experience in developing and delivering operational services that support children, young people, and their families. Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage staff teams with enthusiasm and a commitment to high performance. Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Skilled in data collection, monitoring, and analysis to inform service improvement and strategic development. Experienced in budget management, including monitoring financial performance and implementing appropriate responses to ensure fiscal responsibility.
