Title: Wireperson / Cable Assembly Technician

Rate: £20-30 per hour DOE
We are seeking a skilled Wireperson / Cable Assembly Technician to join a busy and high-performing production team. This is a hands-on role requiring precision, care, and technical ability, ideal for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality electrical assemblies.
Working from engineering drawings and wiring schematics, you will be responsible for assembling, soldering, and inspecting cable harnesses and PCB sub-assemblies to meet strict quality standards.
About the Role
In this position, you will:

Build wire looms, cable harnesses, and connector assemblies from detailed technical documentation.

Carry out accurate soldering on PCB and cable assemblies using appropriate tools and controlled techniques.

Conduct in-process and final inspections, ensuring each assembly meets specification and workmanship criteria.

Use hand and power tools confidently and safely for a variety of wiring and assembly tasks.
*
Maintain a tidy, organised, and safety-compliant workstation in accordance with company procedures.
*
Work closely with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals and output targets.
*
Identify and escalate any issues, build deviations, or component faults in a timely manner.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will bring:

Proven experience in cable harness assembly, PCB soldering, and electronic component handling.

Confidence interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and build documentation.
*
Excellent hand–eye coordination and attention to fine detail.
*
Familiarity with working within a manufacturing or production environment.
*
A collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
*
A strong commitment to quality, precision, and continuous improvement.
Desirable but Not Essential
*
IPC-610 / IPC-620 or equivalent certification in soldering or cable assembly.
*
Understanding of ESD control and safe working practices.
*
Previous experience in aerospace, defence, R&D, or high-reliability electronics environments
