Main Purpose of the Role:
VIP Account Manager will learn and integrate with the client to obtain an in-depth knowledge of their unique processes and requirements working to apply them into bookings by road, sea & air. Also servicing the client’s requirements from end to end ensuring smooth freight forwarding operations.
Duties and Responsibilities of the VIP Account Manager:
* Co-ordinate new bookings via sea, air and road with agents/co-loaders/airlines and input details and documents to Freight Software.
* Keep the client updated for shipment progress reports at milestone events.
* Complete the job end to end ensuring correct paperwork and information are obtained and transferred for compliance.
* Co-ordinate customs clearance with in-house customs team & invoice for Duty + VAT in line with shipment requirement.
* Be able to negotiate haulage rates and arrange delivery.
* Raise invoices and cost files accurately for reporting purposes.
* Pass supplier invoices / resolve queries if required.
* Collect original paperwork where necessary and before release/delivery of cargo.
* Ensure any payments from COD/Non Credit clients are received prior to release/delivery of cargo.
To Be Considered:
* Proven deep sea import operations experience is essential
* Strong customs knowledge with a willingness to continue learning and developing
* Confidence communicating by phone, including the ability to promote yourself and represent the business professionally
* Excellent customer service skills and a polished telephone manner
* Experience using MULTIFREIGHT (highly advantageous)
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
* Ability to work independently using your own initiative, as well as collaboratively within a team
* A customer‑focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem‑solving and service delivery
