Supervisor – Repairs and Voids
London Borough of Sutton seeks two qualified Supervisors with strong management and leadership skills to lead a team of operational trade staff and ensure responsive repairs are delivered to a high standard. Performance is continually managed, compliance and quality assurance monitored and controlled to ensure optimal outcomes for customers and the team.
Responsibilities
* Managing a team of Repair operatives.
* Inspections on building repairs/defects related to building fabric, mechanical, plumbing and electrical repairs for tenants and residents, including collection of information, measurements and tests.
* Surveys to assess work in response to complaints and provide accurate reports for case management, reporting on repairs, and ensuring solutions are provided.
* For Voids, end‑to‑end inspection (pre, during and post) of properties ensuring quality of work, issuing remedial snag lists where required and managing delivery within agreed timescales and standards.
* Carry out inspections/surveys of repair instances escalated from trade staff or planners, producing scope of work to resolve the repair or refer to complex or major works where necessary.
Qualifications & Experience
* Commitment to provide a quality frontline customer service with demonstrable management skills.
* Ability to work in a fast‑paced, pressurised environment.
* Confidence to diagnose repairs effectively and provide solutions.
* NVQ Level 3 or higher in a building trade.
* Level 4 and/or CIH level 4 Planned maintenance, desirable.
* Demonstrable experience within the building/construction industry.
