* 12 month temporary contract, hybrid working - 2-3 days a week onsite in Weybridge, Surrey**
About The Role
The Development Scientist plays a crucial role in advancing new product development for our global Oral Health brands. This position involves formulating and analysing solid, semi-solid, liquid, and other Oral Health products, adhering to medical device, drug product, and cosmetic regulations. The Development Scientist will be engaged at various stages of the development process, contributing to innovative and consumer-focused solutions.
Key Responsibilities
* Independently design experiments and carries out scientific work with an awareness of state-of-the-art technology.
* Maintains precise experimental records; issues report at project milestones and writes invention records to protect scientific discoveries.
* Efficiently manages own time to meet project deadlines and milestones.
* Demonstrates problem-solving ability using innovative thought and good scientific judgment. Utilises problem-solving tools to support, identify analyse and provide solutions to technical challenges and obstacles
* Understands consumer insights and aligns technology with consumer needs to identify potential opportunities for creating appealing consumer propositions.
* Ensures all work is conducted in compliance with regulatory and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements. Contributes to departmental quality documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), batch documentation, manufacturing protocols and reports, product specifications, and development reports.
Essential
Qualifications and skills
* Technical knowledge and practical laboratory experience in formulation and/or analytical development/method validation.
Preferred
* Critical thinking, data analysis, experimental design, technical proficiency, attention to detail and collaboration.
* Awareness of relevant regulations (medical device, drug product, cosmetic)
