Talking Therapies HIT Trainee Development Plan (Salomons CCCU)
This is a training role within the NHS Talking Therapies (formerly IAPT) Programme. The post-holder will work within the talking therapies service providing high‑intensity interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role.
The intensive training post will equip the trainee to provide a cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) service to clients with a range of problems for which CBT is clinically effective. The trainee will work part week in the service using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme at the Salomons Institute of Canterbury Christ Church University for the other part of the week.
There is a requirement to work one late night (12 pm‑8 am) minimum per week. The trainee will work with people from different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary, and should be committed to equal opportunities.
Main Duties
 * Attend all university lectures and complete assignments in a timely manner as required to pass the training course.
 * Deliver effective treatment interventions using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and manage a caseload in line with the stage of training.
 * Prepare for and attend clinical supervision ensuring effective clinical practice. Supervision will be attended with both university and service.
Person Specification
Experience
 * Essential: Suitable experience in mental health.
 * Desirable: Experience working in primary care or with depression and anxiety disorders.
Qualifications
 * Essential: Meets either route 1 (core profession) or route 2 (KSA with 2 years experience).
 * Desirable: Introductory course of CBT or Masters in mental health.
