We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our culinary staff by ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities
* Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables as required.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
* Support chefs during service by preparing ingredients and ensuring that all necessary items are readily available.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring that the kitchen meets hygiene standards at all times.
* Assist with inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages to the head chef.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality food presentation.
* Participate in cleaning duties at the end of shifts, including deep cleaning tasks as directed.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is highly desirable.
* A background in hospitality or culinary arts is an advantage but not essential.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment.
* A proactive attitude towards learning and developing cooking skills.
* Excellent teamwork skills, with a willingness to support colleagues as needed.
* Good communication skills to liaise effectively with kitchen staff and management.
