A Little More About Your Role
You will be required to work closely with the Birmingham Studio Architectural Management team to help nurture and develop the architectural capability within the team. In addition, you'll play a key role in fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment, ensuring that values and best practices are consistently upheld. You will support the team around day‑to‑day challenges, motivation, and keeping everyone moving in the same direction, offering guidance on problem‑solving, encouraging open communication, and helping individuals to reach their full potential.
Key Tasks
* Become integral to the WSP multi‑sector design offer, working closely with other WSP disciplines to develop and secure key opportunities.
* Work at different scales and typologies, including residential, commercial, workplace, industrial, manufacturing, masterplanning, and wider campus‑led design.
* Lead bidding opportunities in workplace, data centre, and defence sector in the UK and overseas.
* Develop the WSP Architecture brand in the region, principally through quality of delivery and design.
* Build and maintain strong internal relationships across WSP, particularly with teams responsible for generating and delivering work, to ensure that Architecture is well positioned to support opportunities as they arise.
* Support the development of design quality within the business.
* Support the development of the volume of work won and successfully delivered.
* Engage in developing design talent and performance within the business.
* Support the Architectural Management team in growing the business and meeting financial targets.
* Undertake the role of Project Architect across a varied portfolio of design projects.
Qualifications
* Professionally qualified Architect with recognised experience of multi‑sector design and technical delivery.
* Background of process and delivery for projects working within successful developed systems based on key principles of evidence‑based design.
* Experience with business development.
* Ability to direct teams and to grow them.
* Capable of representing WSP to clients and communicating technical detail graphically and effectively.
* Capable of working without direct supervision.
* ARB registered and RIBA chartered or ability to work towards chartership.
* Experienced in the use of Revit.
