We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR & Employee Relations Assistant to join our fabulous team on a fixed term basis until 31st October 2026 to join and play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of a first-class Employee Relations service.
As our HR & Employee Relations Assistant, you'll support managers and colleagues across the Group with employment and wellbeing issues, making sure everything aligns with our Group's Policies and Procedures.
Responsibilities
* Acting as first point of contact providing accurate and timely advice to managers and colleagues.
* Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and best practice, escalating more complex issues to the ER Specialists.
* Assisting managers with stage one absence meetings, family leave & flexible working requests and probation reviews. Supporting the Employment Relations Specialist.
* Co-ordinating meetings and associated paperwork in collaboration with respective managers and/or meeting chairs and ER specialists.
* Assist ER Specialist with complex ER Investigations including note taking and collation and preparation of materials in relation to case work.
* Accurately maintaining employee records, associated correspondence to colleagues and ensuring changes are made in line with the payroll cycle.
* Reviewing weekly HR management information reports e.g. absence, and where action is needed working collaboratively with ER Specialist.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in a HR support role with exposure to employee relations casework is essential.
* Experience of coordinating meetings, managing documentation, and providing administrative assistance such as note taking, formulating outcome letters and related correspondence.
* Experience working with HRIS systems to manage colleague data and employment records is essential; previous use of iTrent would be advantageous.
* Excellent ICT skills (Word, Excel) with high levels of attention to detail and accuracy in administration and system work.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, in individual or group situations.
* Proactive and adaptable approach to work, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage competing demands and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Experience of maintaining employee records and completion of colleague contractual changes in line with monthly payroll deadlines.
Location & Travel
While this role is home-based, you must be able to travel regularly to our Group offices located at Birmingham Business Park, Solihull, and Central Park, Worcester.
