Job Description:
Manpower is currently seeking an interim Assistant Technical Project Leader to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.
The position is based in Seacroft, Leeds. This is a full-time temporary role for 6 months, requiring 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation is competitive, between £30,800 - £35,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.
The role offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to change based on business needs.
The Assistant Technical Project Leader will manage formulation, specification, and packaging activities within deodorants innovation projects, supporting delivery to market. The role ensures global and local formulation and packaging solutions are efficiently delivered into European supply chains and to customers.
This role focuses on supporting innovation project managers on large, medium, and high-risk projects, coordinating formulation work, implementing formulation changes, and supporting packaging solutions with the packaging team.
Key Accountabilities
* Support the Manager/Technical Project Leader on project management across multiple projects, deputizing when needed, ensuring good communication and support for regions/countries.
* Manage innovation projects as global/regional TPL on small/low-risk projects.
* Contribute to technical documentation, gather input from cross-functional teams, identify project risks, and update stakeholders.
* Prepare documentation for laboratory technicians, such as batch sheets and data templates, and check gas sheets if trained.
* Serve as formulation contact for projects, providing information and problem-solving for formulation and project issues.
* Ensure packaging compatibility with formulation and customer requirements, meeting regulatory and sustainability standards.
* Manage packaging activities from primary to palletization, collaborating with internal and external partners.
* Complete code summaries to enable ordering and accurate Bill of Materials.
Key Requirements
* FMCG background preferred.
* Graduate level preferred, with GCSE Math and English, Sciences, or Engineering at minimum.
* Experience in science/lab work; formulation development beneficial.
* Project management and claims development experience beneficial.
* Packaging development experience in FMCG advantageous.
