About the role
We are looking for a Wharf General Hand to join the team at our Nelson site.
You will assist with the loading and unloading of our deep sea and inshore vessels and contribute to the effective running of the Wharf.
Your hourly rate will range from $24.50 - $28.50, based on your experience and qualifications.
As a Wharf General Hand, you will be responsible for:
4. Loading and unloading the vessels whilst they are in the port
5. Operating a forklift to assist with loading and unloading as required
6. Performing inspections of unloaded product for any damage
7. Securing deep sea vessels to the wharf
8. Ensuring infrastructure is well-maintained and functional
For this role, you’ll need:
9. To be physically fit and able
10. Great communication skills
11. A strong understanding of H&S procedures
12. Proven experience within the industry
13. A current OSH certificate is advantageous
