An exciting opportunity has arisen for Epilepsy Service, we are looking for a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist managing patients with Epilepsy and associated symptoms, under the supervision of the Band 7 within the Epilepsy Service, you are required to have had significant relevant experience working within the Neurology Service and have the knowledge and skill set to competently perform the necessary technical/invasive/physical & psychosocial aspects of care for this defined patient group, neurology experience would be advantageous although not desirable. As part of a clinical team under the leadership of the Lead Nurse and supervision of the Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for working in an interdisciplinary manner to provide safe and effective care for people with Epilepsy, including targeted patient groups including pre-treatment counselling and screening, monitoring of therapy/clinical response, urgent intervention and admission avoidance consultations. You must have the ability to work independently and possess excellent communication skills to manage the collaborative telephone advice lines / triage of incoming calls, interface with hospital clinicians and general practitioners, delivery of clinical support with a high level of ITC skills. This post will support & facilitate change for the service to improve patient outcomes and ensure safe, effective and person centred care is delivered at every opportunity. The hours of this post are 37hrs Mon – Fri. It is essential that you are a Registered Adult Nurse with the NMC with significant post registration experience (Desirable) within the relevant speciality. You would be required to have a minimum of 5 years post registration experience.
