JOB VACANCY:

SOUS CHEF (Position available as a seasonal opportunity for 2026).

SALARY:

Starting Salary per annum, depending on experience. We embrace Real Living Wage criteria as part of our talent retention and recruitment effort.

BENEFITS:

We operate under Fair Employer expectations and a Fair Work Framework. Company Pension Scheme (Optional) Other benefits available depending on performance in job role subject to mutual agreement, which includes a relocation package and/or travel allowance.

DURATION:

SEASONAL POST A starting date of 30th March 2026 until 31st October 2026.

HOURS:

We offer flexible working patterns. Average of 45 hours per week, with additional hours attracting overtime payment. Some weeks may have volume stretch depending on trading conditions. We actively support a positive personal/work life balance.

DAYS:

5 days a week, straight shifts with some split shifts depending on hotel operations. Weekend work will form part of this shift pattern.

HOLIDAYS:

Statutory Holidays (Currently 28 days per annum / pro-rata)

HOTEL GUEST ROOMS:

14 Bedroom Hotel.

DINING COVERS:

Breakfasts: 20>30, Lunches: 30>40, Dinners: 40>60; Functions/Events: circa 100. Small travel groups, fishing & golfing groups form part of our customer profile.

FOOD STATUS:

Contemporary/ Scottish/Outer Hebrides food style menu with an emphasis on local produce that caters for a wide range of preferences. This hotel collaborates closely with local suppliers to highlight the best of Outer Hebrides food and drink produce.

CATERING RESOURCES:

Currently we have a small, experienced team looking for an exceptional Sous Chef to help with our food development initiative.

STAFF ACCOMMODATION:

Live-Out House or Shared Flat options are available, subject to agreement.

HOTEL BACKGROUND:

The Borrodale Hotel is a privately owned, family-run hotel with nearly 50 years of hospitality experience. Situated in the Southern Isles of the Outer Hebrides, our hotel location offers access to spectacular views, seas & sands, wildlife, hill-walking, fishing, links golfing, and watersports opportunities all year round. If you are excited for a new challenge and would like to live in our beautiful surroundings, then this is a perfect opportunity.

We are currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef with a true passion and ability to produce exciting dishes for our various restaurants and bars. The successful candidate will report to our Head Chef on daily catering operations and maintaining food excellence. The post holder will also be required to support the Isles Hotel Group wider operation (Executive Head Chef) as we continue with our strategy of building a great catering team.

Pay: £13.50-£15.00 per hour
