Closing Date 2026-04-07 Job Title: Programme Control Analyst Location: Falmer – Hybrid Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 37 hours per week Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience About the role We are looking for a Programme Control Analyst to join our Programme Management Office (PMO) based in Falmer. Reporting to the Programme Controls & Standard Manager and working closely with the Programme Control Leads, this role is key in analysing performance data, supporting governance processes, and enabling informed decision-making across our project and programme portfolio. The role is responsible for delivering high-quality analysis of historic and current performance data to support PMO services and business decision-making. It requires a broad awareness of programme delivery, performance management, scheduling, commercial and financial controls, change processes, knowledge management, and benefits tracking. The analyst will produce clear management information, reports, and presentations that simplify complex data, identify improvement opportunities, particularly through lessons learned, and provide continuous review and insight to address underperformance and make recommendations to the PMO Leadership Team. What you will be responsible for : Supporting the implementation of a performance management system that consolidates management information and identifies trends across projects and the directorate portfolio. Developing performance dashboards, reports, and insight packs to present monthly, annual, and AMP-level status updates to the PMO, Capital Delivery Directorate, and senior leadership. Managing and validating data to track key performance measures and ensure insights are accurate, reliable, and actionable. Performing data assurance activities across programme schedules, financial performance, and other PMO disciplines. Supporting the embedding of Southern Water’s PMO Control Strategies across the organisation. Carrying out assurance checks on PMO processes to ensure compliance and alignment with internal standards. Tracking variance on projects critical to Performance Commitments and KPIs, identifying threats, risks, and opportunities. Engaging with the wider business and stakeholders to ensure processes are well understood and integrated into Business-as-Usual activity. Reviewing and updating PMO processes, procedures, and forms to promote standardisation and continuous improvement. What you’ll bring to the role: Essential Strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to collaborate across all business levels. Confidence discussing programme performance, governance, and emerging trends with clarity and purpose. Good understanding of project and programme management principles, including benefits tracking and change control. Experience in performance data management and/or process development. Ability to interpret and simplify complex data for decision-making. Comfortable working with large datasets to identify patterns, issues, and opportunities for improvement. Quick learner Desirable Familiarity with contract management systems such as CEMAR. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., APM, PMI) is an advantage.
