School Crossing Patrol Officer - Leigh Beck Infant School and Nursery

£13.00 per hour
Support your community with Essex County Council’s School Crossing Patrol Team at Leigh Beck Infant School and Nursery, Canvey Island.
Assist with school crossings in the morning and afternoon, ensuring pedestrian safety around the school area.
We seek punctual, reliable, approachable individuals who enjoy engaging with the public.
This role is approximately 7.5 hours per week, with holiday pay included. You will work during the 39 weeks of the school year, for about 45 minutes in the morning (08:00 - 09:00) and afternoon (14:45 - 15:45), depending on site needs. Uniform, equipment, and training are provided.
Responsibilities:
* Consider the needs of disabled pedestrians, especially those with mobility impairments.
* Maintain contact with the schools served by the crossing.
* Assess risks at the crossing site and report issues to your supervisor.
* Assist in preparing reports on accidents and incidents at the crossing.
* Keep uniform and equipment in good condition and request replacements as needed.
* Signal to drivers to stop and ensure the road is clear before pedestrians cross.
