Our Surveyors help us to understand species in their local area and, by extension, across the UK.
At Butterfly Conservation, we want to create a world where butterflies and moths are enjoyed by everyone, forever. We need people to record various species and collect data. This data is used to inform decisions which help to conserve butterflies and moths, both locally and nationally.
Through the Glasgow project we will create Wild Spaces - places where butterflies and moths can thrive - in parks and greenspaces across the city. An important part of the project will be to gather data about which species are found in these areas both before and after the Wild Spaces are created.
Some knowledge of butterfly and moth identification would be useful for this role, but training will be provided, so a passion for nature and an interest in learning are more important! There will be opportunities to work at sites across Glasgow, with the Wild Spaces project officer and fellow volunteers.
