An established family‑run residential care home, operating since the late 1970s, is seeking a Care Assistant to join its dedicated team in Longfield to support up to 24 residents. The home provides a warm, caring, and supportive environment for older people living with an early‑stage diagnosis of dementia. The property dates back to the 17th century and has been modernised to enhance its homely feel. Full‑time | Residential care home | Longfield | Shift pattern: 7:45 – 7:45 | Pay: £12.85 – £15.28 per hour
The Role
We are recruiting an experienced and compassionate Care Assistant to support residents within this friendly and well‑established setting. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care while promoting dignity, independence, and wellbeing. You will be an integral part of a close‑knit care team, helping to ensure residents feel safe, respected, and truly at home.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
* Supporting residents’ physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing
* Assisting with meals, hydration, and light household duties
* Delivering compassionate care, including end‑of‑life support when required
* Maintaining accurate electronic care records and care plans
* Promoting dignity, independence, and confidentiality at all times
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience as a Care Assistant within a residential care setting
* NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
* Medication administration experience or willingness to undertake training
* A caring, professional, and reliable approach
* Strong communication skills and a team‑focused attitude
* A genuine passion for supporting older people living with dementia
