About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a construction professional to make a career change, moving from tools to the classroom to share knowledge and expertise. In this role you will be teaching in new modern facilities that have undergone significant updates in the last year, delivering a high‑class teaching and learning experience to the brick and construction department.
The role involves developing the curriculum and supporting the development of the department as a Centre of Excellence. You will teach and assess Level 3 study programmes, adult programmes and apprenticeships in brickwork, in both workshop and classroom environments. You will motivate students, manage learner progress, create inspiring resources and set SMART targets to help learners achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver outstanding teaching and assessment up to Level 3, including study programmes, adult programmes and apprenticeships within brickwork, both in the workshop and classroom environments.
* Prepare lessons, mark work, and provide timely feedback that supports student learning.
* Develop creative resources to inspire outstanding learning, monitoring and tracking of learner progress.
* Collaborate with the curriculum team, technicians, personal development coordinators, work placement officers and other internal departments such as examinations and curriculum administration.
* Work as part of the curriculum team at Rotherham, with line management by the Curriculum Manager.
Qualifications
* Occupational qualification at Level 3 or above in brickwork or related construction field.
* Relevant teaching qualification and assessors award, or willingness to undertake.
* Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths, or willingness to undertake.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and management.
