Job Description
As an Individual Needs Assistant, your primary responsibility will be to support students with special educational needs in a classroom setting. This includes:
1. Providing one-on-one assistance
2. Helping with personal care needs
3. Implementing individual education plans
You will collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to create a supportive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications and Skills
Required:
* Genuine passion for working with individuals with special educational needs
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in a team
* Basic understanding of relevant legislation and policies
Education: Minimum GCSEs in English and Maths; additional qualifications in special educational needs are desirable.
Experience: Prior experience working with individuals with special educational needs is essential.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Understanding of different learning styles and strategies
* Ability to adapt and demonstrate flexibility
* Strong organisational skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools
* First Aid certification
Working Conditions
This role involves working in a classroom environment within a school setting. It may require physical activity and personal care assistance. Hours are scheduled during school term times.
Additional Information
All applicants must have the necessary qualifications and training. Safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check, are mandatory. We offer free safeguarding and Prevent Duty training.
