Join to apply for the One Stop - Shift Leader role at One Stop Stores Ltd. One Stop is a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Shift Leader, you will work in a fast-paced retail environment where no day is the same. You will take ownership of store activities by running duty shifts, coordinating a team to deliver a clean and full store that exceeds customer expectations. You will continuously look for ways to improve service in your store through on-the-job coaching and feedback. You will have a great understanding of how your store is performing and be the specialist in delivering practical actions for its improvement by taking a hands-on approach. With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate the team to deliver the easiest shopping trip in the community
* Open/close the store and complete duty cover, ensuring decisions are right for customers, colleagues, and safety
* Be the go-to person for colleagues in the absence of the Store Manager for day-to-day operational queries
* Support the Store Manager to coordinate seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere
* Ensure the store is clean, tidy, and well presented
* Prioritise replenishment of products that matter to our customers
* Ensure point of sale and shelf edge labels reflect what good looks like
* Take immediate action for any overcharges and prevent reoccurrence
* Proactively manage queues in store to deliver a great shopping trip for customers
* Coordinate colleagues to deliver daily priorities and manage breaks around trade patterns
* Be knowledgeable about the store, coordinating others to deliver practical actions to improve
* Follow company health and safety routines and ensure colleagues do the same
* Deliver clear communication to the team and keep them informed
* Look for ways to simplify operations and share ideas with the Store Manager
* Always put the customer first and adapt service to meet individual needs
* Resolve customer queries promptly and leave customers satisfied
* Identify and remove obstacles to delivering great service
* Resolve colleague queries in the absence of the Store Manager or escalate as appropriate
* Ensure appropriate staffing and arrange cover for short-term absences/sickness
* Act as a recognised Keyholder when required and respond to alarm call-outs to ensure store safety
* Monitor internal communications and ensure messages are actioned and colleagues informed
* Coordinate colleagues to meet customer and store needs, feeding back issues to the Store Manager
* Balance time between service and replenishment areas
* Support the Store Manager in managing absence and conduct return-to-work interviews where applicable
* Build meaningful relationships with Area Manager and People Partner and escalate issues in a timely manner
