Job Description Summary:
Mass Academy seeks a summer program counselor to support our Junior Academy summer academic enrichment program. This is a temporary position with dates on campus including training, family orientation, and the summer program from July 7 to July 18. Work hours are either 7:00 AM - 2:00 PM or 10:30 AM - 5:30 PM.
About the Junior Academy at Mass Academy:
The Junior Academy is a two-week summer program for rising 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students, providing academic enrichment through literacy, math support, hands-on STEM projects, and campus tours.
About Mass Academy:
Mass Academy is a tuition-free, public school for academically accelerated students, emphasizing math and science, with classes at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Responsibilities:
* Assist teachers during classes and provide academic support
* Foster a positive, inclusive community
* Plan, organize, and facilitate activities
* Manage student check-in/check-out and monitor safety
* Participate in team meetings and communicate effectively with parents and staff
* Engage in program activities and perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
* High school diploma or current enrollment
* Positive attitude, teamwork, and communication skills
* Experience with children preferred
* Ability to work actively outdoors for long periods
* Conditional offer pending background check and mandatory training
