I'm currently recruiting for an Interim Assistant Accountant to support a well‑established distribution business based in Garretts Green. This is a long‑term interim opportunity, offering hybrid working and a steady, hands‑on role within a supportive finance team.
The role:
Reporting into the Finance Manager, the Interim Assistant Accountant will support day‑to‑day finance operations and assist with month‑end reporting.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Assisting with month‑end close, including journals and accruals
2. Balance sheet reconciliations
3. Supporting management accounts preparation
4. Bank reconciliations and cash postings
5. Assisting with VAT and statutory reporting where required
6. Supporting Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger as needed
7. Ad‑hoc finance analysis and reporting
The ideal candidate:
8. Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar interim finance role
9. Confident with journals, reconciliations and month‑end processes
10. Strong Excel skills and experience using finance systems
11. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced distribution or operational environment
12. Available for a long‑term interim assignment
