IVVQ Systems Engineer

Location: Templecombe, United Kingdom (Hybrid work – 3 days in the office)

We are seeking a highly motivated IVVQ Engineer to join our fast‑growing C4I products team. In this role you will test and verify that our systems meet all requirements, support delivery to customers, and contribute to mission‑critical solutions. You will report to the IVVQ Manager & Engineering Delivery Manager and work across the entire product lifecycle.


What The Role Has To Offer

* Take ownership of the full system verification lifecycle by developing and executing detailed test scripts, managing defect resolution, and delivering critical compliance evidence.
* Gain hands‑on experience installing, configuring, and testing cutting‑edge systems both in‑house and at customer sites.


Key Responsibilities

* Develop, review, and execute comprehensive system test scripts, cases, and descriptions in alignment with the IVV plan.
* Record, analyse, and report test outcomes through formal reports and databases.
* Manage and track defects, bugs, and issues using JIRA, collaborating closely with systems and software teams.
* Generate and modify test simulation data to support verification activities.
* Lead system and subsystem verification efforts, preparing detailed verification reports and collating compliance evidence.
* Communicate design non‑compliances and technical risks to stakeholders, recommending mitigation strategies.
* Build, configure, and maintain system equipment, including installation of operating systems and Thales software.
* Conduct installations and perform rigorous testing at customer sites.

Essential Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree (BEng, BSc) or equivalent in a numerate, scientific, or engineering discipline.
* Proven expertise in system and software testing, using tools such as JIRA.
* Strong analytical skills in interpreting test results to identify and resolve technical bugs.
* Experience in integration, verification, validation, and qualification of complex systems.
* Skilled in performing installations and on‑site system tests at customer locations.
* Proven ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams and engage with customers.
* Excellent communication of technical results, defects, and compliance issues in clear, concise reports.
* Goal‑oriented, delivery‑focused, showing strong innovation and self‑motivation.
* Willing to travel within the UK and internationally as required.


Desirable Skills

* Extensive experience in the defence industry and understanding of its standards.
* Proven expertise in systems engineering, including requirements analysis and lifecycle management.
* Experience with software test and verification, ensuring reliability, performance, and compliance with defence standards.

Security Clearance

This role requires you to be a UK National and achieve Security Clearance (SC) without any caveats. If you do not already have SC, you must obtain it before starting. Dual nationals from a non‑ITAR country may be considered if approved by the MOD.
