Job Summary

We are currently looking for Business Development Managers with substantial experience in selling workplace personal pension services or similar financial products into the SME or Enterprise B2B2C distribution channels.

The role involves lead generation, cold calling prospective clients, setting up initial meetings and demonstrations of our workplace pensions product. You will then meet clients, complete the sales cycle, and close deals. This may be done independently or in collaboration with the Delivery Director or Head of Distribution for Thrive. Additionally, you will report client feedback to the product team to aid product improvements and ensure good market fit.

This role is ideal for ambitious sales development professionals eager to grow a new financial services product from inception, comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced start-up environments.

Opportunities for growth include progression to Senior or Executive Business Development Manager roles.


Key Accountabilities

1. Generate leads through outbound cold contacting using tools like Apollo, LinkedIn Navigator, Zoominfo, and Beauhurst.
2. Build and maintain relationships with C-Suite, senior HR, and finance contacts within target corporate clients via various communication channels.
3. Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure and contract drafting.
4. Leverage your network to develop new distribution channels outside the typical ICP.
5. Provide feedback from clients to the product team to ensure market needs are integrated into product development.
6. Maintain high standards of customer service, keeping clients informed about products, practices, and procedures.
7. Organize seminars, webinars, and events to increase brand awareness among target audiences.
8. Participate in company campaigns aligning with strategic objectives.
9. Accurately record interactions and key data in CRM systems.
10. Continuously develop skills through training, qualifications, and presentations.
11. Champion the workplace personal pension platform aspect of the business.
12. Mentor future team members, including BDM and Lead Generation Managers.

Essential Experience

* Significant experience selling workplace personal pensions or similar financial products into SME or Enterprise B2B2C channels.
* Proven sales record, KPI-focused, in a target-driven environment.
* Understanding of good customer outcomes and financial services industry, especially workplace pensions.
* Experience with face-to-face customer interactions and presentations.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

* Degree in business, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Prepared to obtain R01/CF1 qualification immediately.
* Willingness to travel regularly.
* Highly committed and motivated.
* Possession of a vehicle and valid business insurance.
