Position Purpose Statement:
In RSSL we are customer focused, science led and results driven. The RSSL Pharmaceutical Wet Chemistry laboratory performs a wide range of analytical analyses for a variety of food, pharmaceutical and healthcare companies and supports Mondelez research and innovation.
The role of Lab Support Technician is to be performing a range of routine activities to support effective completion of projects and meet the customer’s contractual agreements. Perform laboratory administration (responsibility for checking of LIMS data during project initiation, reagent and sample disposal and data archiving), general housekeeping activities, basic routine equipment calibration and work in accordance with the quality standards within the laboratory.
Primary Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
1. Provide high quality customer service at all times by ensuring effective organisation of assigned workload, integrity of analytical data generated and timely/accurate provision of results.
2. Efficiently and proactively book in or perform GMP quality check on all incoming projects in the laboratory database system, ensure all required materials are in stock or ordered and correctly storing supplied materials within the laboratory.
3. Provide archival service on behalf of the laboratory in accordance with set procedure.
4. Clarify any omissions to required technical details during project submission directly with clients by e-mail or telephone.
5. Monitor expiry / disposal dates of reagents and samples and administer disposal activities as required.
6. Perform routine calibrations and qualifications of basic wet chemistry equipment, such as pipettes and balances under supervision of a senior member of staff, operating basic lab equipment as directed and ensuring a tidy and safe laboratory working environment.
7. Be competent in the use of generic and specific software packages required for the role: Laboratory’s LIMS system and Q-Pulse.
8. Perform Laboratory administration and housekeeping duties as directed.
9. Will be expected to work in different laboratories if the demand is required.

11. Work to the highest standards of safety and quality by ensuring that appropriate COSHHs, risk assessments and SOPs are understood and followed.
12. To complete assigned quality actions in a timely manner
13. To maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
14. To understand and work to the requirements of GMP and UKAS.
15. Ensure training records are accurate.
16. Being competent in the use of generic and specific software packages such as LIMS, Q-Pulse, COUPA Mastershopper etc. is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Language Requirements:
17. Educated to A / HNC level in a relevant scientific discipline
18. Accountable, honest, hardworking and able to work efficiently in a team
19. Flexible and adaptable to meet customer/business requirements.
20. Meticulous attention to detail and an ability to follow written instructions.
21. Good written and verbal communication skills.
22. Self motivated, enthusiastic and quick to learn.
23. Well organized and capable of working on multiple activities concurrently.
24. Computer literate in standard MS office applications
25. Scientific understanding of basic lab equipment (preferred)
26. English fluency (written and spoken)
