Trainee advanced physiotherapy practitioner - pelvic health

Poole
Internship
University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust
Posted: 20 August
Offer description

At University Hospitals Dorset, we have a unique opportunity for you to join a dynamic and exciting pelvic health therapy workforce as a trainee or established advanced practice physiotherapist.

Salary: Band 7 (with progression to Band 8a upon successful completion of the ACP apprenticeship and attainment of the ACP digital badge). The ACP apprenticeship takes 3 years to complete.

(Please note, we also encourage applicants who have already gained their ACP digital badge; in this case, the job role would start at Band 8A.)

This position is twinned with a funded advanced clinical practice apprenticeship, with one day a week dedicated to completing the apprenticeship.

This role involves using highly developed clinical reasoning skills to manage a pelvic health physiotherapy caseload. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership within the pelvic health therapy team in urogynaecology, gynaecology, and urology domains, including education, training, and mentorship of junior staff.

Benefits

* Competitive salary at Band 7, progressing to Band 8a upon completion of the ACP apprenticeship / attainment of the ACP digital badge.
* Opportunities for ongoing professional development and skills enhancement in pelvic health care.
* A supportive and collaborative work environment within a leading healthcare institution.

This role covers UHD, primarily at Poole and Christchurch hospitals.

We welcome applications from both ambitious and experienced clinicians who are team players and committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred services.

In this role, you'll provide clinical expertise within Enhanced Practice gynaecology clinics, playing a key role in determining the most appropriate care for patients with a predominantly gynaecological caseload.

You will conduct comprehensive assessments, interpret examination findings, develop diagnoses, and create tailored management plans considering patient needs and local guidelines.

You will supervise, train, and educate junior physiotherapy staff in pelvic health therapy.

As you progress through your apprenticeship and into an advanced practice role, you'll engage in service development, quality assurance, and research activities.

Christchurch hospital has recently undergone a significant refurbishment, offering excellent facilities including physiotherapy gyms and consulting rooms. Staff amenities and secure bike storage are available, encouraging sustainable commuting.

Our values underpin everything we do as #TeamUHD, guiding our interactions with patients, visitors, and colleagues.

UHD is investing in service development across the Trust, with some services moving sites as part of the New Hospital Programme. Interviewers will be happy to discuss any specific questions about these changes.
