CNC Manufacturing Engineer

A well-established precision engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Manufacturing Engineer to join its team in Hinckley. This is a key hire, offering the opportunity to become an integral part of a stable and successful business with a strong focus on long-term employee retention.
The Role
Working within a team of three programmers, you will be responsible for creating CNC programs, supporting production, and working closely with machine operators to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
Key responsibilities include:
Producing CNC programs for milling and turning components
Programming and supporting 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machines, including DMG Mori DMU and Mazak equipment
Using CAD/CAM software (currently AlphaCAM, with potential future migration to Hypermill)
Providing technical support to approximately 30 machine operators
Interpreting engineering drawings and component specifications
Optimising machining processes and cycle times
Troubleshooting production and programming issues
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floor
About You
Minimum 5 years' CNC programming experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of CNC milling and/or turning processes
Experience programming 3, 4 and 5-axis machines
CAD/CAM experience (AlphaCAM, Hypermill or similar packages considered)
Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to manufacturing support

37-hour working week
Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 16:45
Friday: 08:00 - 12:00
