Wood Process & Energy is looking for a Project Controls Manager on a full time, permanent basis months. This role is based at our offices in Glasgow on a hybrid working pattern (3 days minimum in the office, 2 days at home).

The P&E part of the business, which sits in the Operations part of the business can offer a wide range of opportunities which will allow you to develop your skills across a portfolio of onshore projects in different sectors. Our current portfolio includes green hydrogen and fuel switching, as well as supporting local clients with energy transition. Additionally, we work on UK refineries, petrochemical facilities, fine chemicals and pharmaceutical facilities. We have a number of clients who we are working with to design their pilot plants to test exciting new technologies, with a view to partnering with them as they move to design and build full scale commercial facilities.

The Role:

8. Leads the cost; planning, scheduling and risk assessment support to assignments / project teams and clients, typically on projects of moderate size and complexity
9. Oversees the set up and running of all required project controls systems, tools and interfaces to allow successful management and reporting of the project costs, schedule and risks on projects and specific assignments
10. Responsible for managing a team of project control resources in support of project delivery excellence
11. The role interfaces with a number of key stakeholders across the project and wider business.
12. Primary focal point for the Project Manager, Client or Project Team for all matters relating to project costs, schedules and risk; and resources requirements.
13. Develops and implements the project control execution plan for projects of moderate size and complexity

Qualifications/Skills/Experience:

14. Typically requires ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience)
15. Relevant industry experience in project control positions, including significant experience supervising and managing others
16. Significant experience and capability in management of contracts, budgeting, controlling costs, planning, scheduling and management of change
17. Knowledgeable across engineering, procurement and constructions execution
18. Understands the use and applications of Project Controls department tools and systems
19. Possess keen business insight: embraces Wood’s strategic purpose and goals and translates these into practical concepts relevant to project execution
20. Builds knowledge networks: creates and maintains a global network of subject matter experts inside and outside their team and Wood
21. Ability to think analytically, conceptually and adaptively, and make sense of new information across multiple levels of detail
22. Able to address substantive conflicts and facilitate timely resolution: builds collaborative relationships, engages others, fosters teamwork, aligns differences
23. Good mentoring skills: teaches, coaches, and mentors to help assure individual and team success as well as develop the next generation
24. Able to foster development of a common vision and collaboration among team members and teams across geographical and cultural boundaries, promotes open expression of ideas, encourages and empowers others to achieve
