Would you like to work in an organisation that sits in the top 10 best NHS Mental Health, Learning Disability and Community Services Trust to work for? This ranking is based on staff feedback in the 2023 NHS Staff Survey.
Job overview
We are seeking a dynamic Registered Nurse/Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our Trust-wide Adult Eating Disorders Service (AEDS). This is a substantive post which will primarily be based within our Enhanced Treatment Team (ETT) at Farnham Road Hospital, Guildford, but with the additional flexibility required to sometimes work from our Epsom site and other hub sites. The postholder will additionally be expected to complete home visits.
The post holder will be joining well-established outpatient and day care facilities for working age adults with moderate to severe eating disorders. The development of the ETT is an exciting new multi-disciplinary initiative aimed at reducing hospital admissions and providing an alternative to day care for initial stabilisation purposes when needed.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will initially be expected to develop their skills in working with people with more severe eating disorders through shadowing and then contributing to the delivery of the day care programme under supervision. Over time, these skills will then be generalised to their delivery within the ETT. The range of duties will include care co-ordination, physical monitoring, conducting audits, and meal supervision.
The successful applicant will require NMC registration and have an interest and experience in the field of eating disorders. Good communication skills and excellent IT skills are essential. The ability to drive a car and access to a car during working hours is also essential due to the requirement to sometimes travel between the AEDS sites (in Guildford and Epsom), to complete home visits, and occasionally also travel to other Trust hub sites.
