An established and forward-thinking organisation is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to take ownership of their safety function and lead the development of a strong, proactive safety culture across the business.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for implementing, monitoring, and improving health and safety practices across all operational areas. Reporting into senior leadership, you'll play a vital part in ensuring legal compliance, fostering a safe working environment, and engaging all stakeholders in a shared safety vision.
* Develop and implement effective health and safety policies in line with current legislation
* Carry out regular site inspections and audits to assess risks and ensure compliance
* Lead training and awareness initiatives to promote a strong safety culture
* Investigate incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and corrective actions
* Maintain comprehensive safety records and provide regular reports to leadership
* Engage with employees, subcontractors, and suppliers to align safety standards
* Identify hazards and drive continuous improvement across operations
The Candidate
* NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) - essential
* Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and compliance standards
* Proven experience in a Health and Safety leadership role, ideally in a dynamic or complex environment
* A confident communicator who can influence and lead teams at all levels
* Hands-on and practical, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Comfortable challenging the status quo and driving change where needed
