SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 4)
Contract Type: Full-time Temporary Work
Start Date: 23/02/2026
Salary: £100 – £105 per day
Location: Radlett, Hertfordshire
About the Role:
We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming, community-focused Jewish primary school in Radlett for a Year 4 SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team until the end of the academic year.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support a well-behaved and enthusiastic class of 28 pupils in Key Stage 2. You will work closely with the Year 4 Class Teacher to support teaching and learning, with a particular focus on providing additional support to pupils with special educational needs.
Your role will include working with small groups and individual pupils to reinforce learning, supporting classroom routines, promoting positive behaviour, and helping pupils to engage confidently in lessons. You will also assist with preparing resources and providing pastoral support to ensure pupils feel safe, supported and included.
The school warmly welcomes staff of all faiths and none, provided they are happy to support the school’s Jewish ethos. Guidance and support will be given around cultural events and celebrations, so prior experience in a Jewish school is not essential.
The school benefits from excellent facilities, a friendly and supportive senior leadership team, and a strong sense of community. Due to limited public transport links, applicants must be able to drive; there is a large on-site car park available.
Requirements:
To be eligible for this role, applicants must have:
• Experience supporting pupils in a primary school setting (ideally Key Stage 2)
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN (desirable)
• A recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
• Good understanding of classroom routines and behaviour management strategies
• Availability to commit until the end of the academic year
The Ideal Candidate Will:
• Build positive relationships and contribute to a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment
• Be patient, proactive and committed to supporting pupils with additional needs
• Support pupils’ academic, social and emotional development
• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider school team
• Be organised, reliable and enthusiastic about supporting learning
Our client can offer you:
• Friendly, well-behaved and engaged pupils
• A supportive and welcoming staff team
• Excellent facilities and classroom resources
• A positive working environment with strong leadership
• Opportunities for professional development and training
Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training such as a recognised Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.
