Job Title: Director, Global Sourcing

Responsibilities
* Partner with instruments operations leaders and provide strategic sourcing expertise to global procurement teams.
* Develop strategic alliances with existing suppliers, identify new suppliers, drive supplier performance and cultivate redundancy and resiliency across the instrument supply chain.
* Lead complex, multi‑faceted pricing and contract negotiations focusing on price productivity, cash‑flow terms optimisation, inventory management, supply assurance, quality, and delivery.
* Develop, implement, and execute procurement strategy, process, and policies.
* Identify Total Cost of Ownership opportunities and execute negotiations, projects, and sourcing activities to deliver continuous cost savings.
* Ensure supply‑chain resilience of instruments for revenue protection.
* Review and analyse current suppliers and provide technology‑based recommendations.
* Define risk and contract management concepts and drive activities to reduce risk, including implementation of alternative sources.
* Organise regular business reviews to rate suppliers on defined KPIs (supply‑chain performance, quality, cost‑competitiveness, technology roadmap).
* Partner with R&D and manufacturing to support projects from pilot development through full‑scale manufacturing in regulated and non‑regulated facilities.
* Compile spend data by site, supplier and technology and recommend ways to maximise or optimise spend.
* Maintain deep understanding of fluidics commodity and validation plans to evaluate alternative vendors and materials.
* Develop and maintain processes and methods that comply with all safety, ISO / regulatory, and company requirements/guidelines.
* Strategically manage and optimise the supply network (pooled direct).
* Implement material‑field specific benchmarking and best‑practice sharing with continental/regional organisations, external partners and competitors.
* Select, manage, assess, develop and coach employees in the area of responsibility to ensure long‑term corporate success with a motivated staff.
* Define and monitor targets and KPIs for the commodity business field.
* Responsibly manage cost‑reduction metrics and performance against those metrics.
* Act as the direct partner link to business‑unit and corporate‑function management, ensuring active communication and information exchange with all parties.
Basic Qualifications
* At least 10 years of experience in Life Sciences and Diagnostics in various functions and several areas of SCM, Procurement or Strategy, including cross‑functional exposure.
* Proven track‑record in leading a strategic procurement function in a global environment.
* Indirect spend experience preferred.
* At least 5 years of functional and disciplinary leadership responsibility.
* Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
* Collaborate globally with stakeholders and may support projects/priorities/meetings during non‑standard working hours.
Preferred Qualifications
* Demonstrated general management ability to lead a global organisation.
* International business exposure mandatory; international work experience desirable.
* Proven track record in creating and enhancing effective commodity teams to drive strategic initiatives.
* Experience in cost‑value engineering, supplier innovation management and corporate sourcing risk management programmes.
* Ability to multi‑task, respond to tight deadlines and provide quick turnaround times.
* Commodity experience and demonstrated success driving cost reduction through global supply chain.
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain / Operations Management or equivalent experience required; master’s degree preferred.
* Exceptional communicator of information, opinions, observations and conclusions to drive actions.
* Demonstrates initiative and resourcefulness; self‑managed and self‑motivated.
* Ability to make decisions under pressure and against tight deadlines.
* Ability to manage priorities and stay on top of critical responsibilities.
