CNWL is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Band 8b Service Manager / Clinical Service Lead to join our Community Older Adult Services in Harrow on an initial 6‑month fixed‑term basis. The portfolio includes our Memory Assessment Service (MAS), Older Adult Home Treatment Team (HTT) and Older Adult Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). This is an exciting opportunity to lead well‑established teams and deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care for older adults living with mental health needs, cognitive impairment, dementia, and frailty.
Main duties of the job
You will provide strategic, operational and clinical leadership across Harrow’s Older Adult Services, supporting seamless pathways from memory assessment and diagnosis to crisis/home treatment and community recovery.
Key responsibilities
* Lead and develop integrated older adult pathways across Harrow
* Drive performance, access and flow across MAS, HTT and CMHT
* Strengthen partnership working with Harrow PCNs, Borough partners, acute trusts and local authority services
* Promote safety, learning, and high‑quality clinical governance
* Support and develop a multi‑disciplinary workforce
* Contribute to CNWL’s community transformation agenda

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
* To provide strategic, operational, and clinical leadership across the Older Adult portfolio—Memory Assessment Service (MAS), Older Adult Home Treatment Team (HTT), and Older Adult Community Mental Health Services
* Ensure high‑quality, safe, person‑centred, and evidence‑based care
* Deliver service performance, quality improvement, workforce sustainability, financial stewardship, and partnership integration across primary care, social care, voluntary and community sector (VCS), and acute partners
* The role is pivotal to CNWL’s transformation goals, delivering timely access, reduced inpatient admissions, effective crisis/home treatment, and improved outcomes and experience for older adults and their carers

Qualifications & Training
Essential criteria
* Master’s degree or equivalent professional qualification
* Demonstrable capability and capacity for clinical service management at a senior level in a large, complex healthcare environment, including staff management, financial management and change management
Desirable criteria
* Relevant clinical qualification
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
* Managerial experience in a large and complex organisation preferably within the NHS
* Previous experience working in a management role (community, inpatient, or demonstrably transferrable experience in similar services)
* Experience of managing a multidisciplinary team
* Demonstrable success in delivering change and performance with clinical teams
* Ability to analyse complex problems and to develop practical and workable solutions to address them
* Ability to manage and deliver to deadlines and within resources
* A strong sense of personal and team accountability coupled to a clear understanding of the boundaries around delegated authority
* Ability to collaborate constructively with internal and external partners to create the conditions for successful partnership working
* A good understanding of the changing NHS environment; particularly in relation to perinatal services
* Track record of undertaking and completing significant projects
* Ability to relate to people of all disciplines and at all levels within the organisation
* Prioritising and managing workload within a busy operational role
* Experience of successful interagency partnership working
* Self‑motivated and autonomous
