Python Developer – Geospatial / GIS
Location- Fully remote
Contract Term- 6 months
We are seeking a highly skilled Python Developer with strong GIS expertise to join a team working on geospatial data solutions. This role focuses on the design, development, and support of geospatial data pipelines, applications, and APIs, using modern open‑source technologies.
The successful candidate will have proven experience working with large‑scale raster and vector datasets, building robust ETL pipelines, and contributing to high‑quality software solutions that support data‑driven decision‑making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines for large‑scale raster, vector, and tabular datasets
2. Build and support Python‑based applications and geospatial data services
3. Integrate external and internal data sources via REST APIs
4. Collaborate closely with developers, designers, product owners, business analysts, and systems analysts
5. Apply industry best practices for software development, governance, and maintainability
6. Work with Quality Assurance teams to ensure high‑quality, reliable delivery
7. Conduct technical and benefit analysis for IT solutions and contribute to technology direction
8. Research, design, implement, and manage new software programs
9. Enhance and modify existing systems to improve performance and functionality
10. Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code
11. Develop and maintain quality assurance procedures
12. Support deployment of software tools, processes, and metrics
13. Maintain, upgrade, and support existing platforms and services
Required Qualifications
14. Technical degree (Computer Science, Geospatial Science, Engineering, or related discipline)
15. Proven experience designing and building applications using Python
16. Strong experience working across multiple operating systems and platforms
17. Solid understanding of modern software development practices and tools
