Why join us
We’re a household name — and a trusted one. We need to ensure that the value and quality we provide in our stores and online start with our suppliers. Building strong relationships will help you reach targets, which will be second nature to a negotiator like you.
What you’ll do
You’ll manage day-to-day relationships with suppliers to ensure SLAs are met. This involves analyzing data to assess performance, challenging suppliers when KPIs aren’t reached, and implementing measures to improve. You’ll also ensure suppliers update their inventories to maximize stock availability.
This role involves working closely with trading teams, providing insights into supplier performance to support buying decisions or identify opportunities. You’ll create reports, share performance updates, chair meetings, and communicate effectively with both external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
You will have end-to-end ownership of the new supplier setup process, launching new suppliers that impact the business.
Essential criteria:
* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, confident engaging with internal teams and external suppliers.
* Relationship Management: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships, managing and influencing stakeholders.
* Proactive and Detail-Oriented: Self-motivated with a proactive approach and strong attention to detail.
* Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
* Commercial Awareness: Understanding of commercial principles and financial impacts.
* Organisation and Planning: Strong planning and organizational skills to manage priorities.
Who you are
Experience in account handling or merchandising is a plus, but being a natural negotiator is essential. You should be a confident communicator and skilled in analysis. The role involves travel, so comfort with that is required.
