Overview
As a Finning Machine Health Inspector your main responsibilities include the handover, inspection and connectivity of machines/engines within your area. You will manage your workload and schedule, contact customers directly to arrange times for the machine/engine to be worked on, and provide recommendations to improve asset health via CAT inspect and share maintenance best practice. You will also support technology field-based triage for regional delivery.
Responsibilities
- Carry out routine inspections on machines and engines to ensure operational serviceability.
- Ensure software is current and updated.
- Maintain accurate records and complete onsite documentation.
- Carry out familiarisation or handover activities to users of machines.
- Configure machines and engines for operational activities.
- Perform specific tests on machines to determine operational serviceability.
- Specifically track & bucket inspections using CAT app & tooling.
- Diagnose telemetry faults on asset systems and components.
- Install, remove, and replace product link hardware.
- Respond to technology triage for telemetry, software, firmware, VIMS & Minestar.
- Plan and manage schedule/workload working directly with the customer.
- Complete a minimum of three activities per day (Inspection, telemetry & handover).

- Knowledge of moving plant related loads by manual lifting and using manually operated load handling equipment.
- Familiarity with Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) and Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER).
- Understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 15001.
- Experience with technology – telemetry, asset software, firmware, VIMS & Minestar, CAT Systems (e.g., SISWEB & CAT Inspect, TMI).
Education & Experience
- NVQ Level 2 in Plant Maintenance & Repairs or equivalent.
- Experience of at least 5 years in an engineering role involving machine movement.
- Additional training: Caterpillar contamination control, SPA passport to safety, and Caterpillar online training (provided by employer).
