Join Guild Care as a Deputy Manager – Linfield House - Lead with Purpose and Heart
Are you passionate about delivering exceptional care? Do you thrive in a leadership role where you can support others and make a genuine impact? At Guild Care, a leading not-for-profit charity, we are looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our care home team.
As a Deputy Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role, supporting the Home Manager with the day-to-day running of the home and overseeing the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care. You’ll work closely with our care team, mentoring and guiding staff, managing care planning, and helping ensure every resident receives the support they deserve.
You’ll also manage the rota in order to ensure safe and effective staffing throughout the home.
About The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will:
* Lead, supervise, and support care staff in their day-to-day duties.
* Ensure excellent, person-centred care is delivered at all times.
* Welcome, train, and mentor new team members, guiding them through induction and probation.
* Manage staff rotas to ensure effective cover.
* Maintain clear, accurate records and support care planning and documentation.
* Liaise with residents, families, and colleagues to ensure strong communication and teamwork.
* Assist with audits, quality checks, and uphold CQC and internal standards.
* Help manage supplies and monitor budgets as needed.
* Create a safe, welcoming environment where everyone feels respected and supported.

What We’re Looking For:
We’re looking for someone who shares our values of being Brave, Engaging, Loving, and full of Integrity while recognising that Everyone Matters. You’ll also bring:
* Experience working with older people in a care home setting.
* Confidence in supervising or mentoring care staff.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* A proactive, hands-on approach to leadership.
* Understanding of dementia care, CQC standards, and the care certificate framework (desirable).
* Experience of implementation of strategy, change processes and the ability to engage and bring people along working towards shared goals and vision.
* Excellent communication skills, confidentiality and sensitivity.
* Understanding of the benefits of digital technology and the ability to implement it in order to improve experiences for people.

Guild Care was founded in Worthing in 1933 by visionary volunteers dedicated to supporting vulnerable individuals in the local community. Originally known as Worthing Council of Social Service, the organisation focused on alleviating poverty, isolation, and health challenges during difficult times. Over the following decades, Guild Care consistently expanded its services, proactively responding to the community's evolving needs.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Guild Care established innovative day centres and residential care homes, significantly enhancing life quality for older adults and individuals with disabilities. Adapting continually, the charity later introduced specialised dementia care facilities and tailored services for those with learning disabilities.
Today, Guild Care supports over 3,000 people annually across West Sussex through a range of community-focused services. Remaining true to its founding values, the organisation is one of Worthing's largest employers, powered by almost 700 dedicated staff members and the essential contributions of more than 300 volunteers, all united in making a meaningful difference.
