Job overview
We are expanding our Analytical Services team at NHS Lothian and are looking for a Principal Information Analyst. You will work closely with a range of customers at strategic and operational levels to understand and solve complex analytical problems, and communicate intelligence clearly and effectively to make an impact across the health and social care system.
Key responsibilities
 * Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
 * Lead the interpretation and analysis of large and complex datasets.
 * Communicate findings to senior decision-makers in a clear and compelling manner.
 * Manage and prioritise multiple high‑priority workstreams.
 * Lead others in the team and mentor junior analysts.
Qualifications
 * Relevant numerate degree, level equivalent to SCQF level 11.
 * Significant experience in information analysis and intelligence delivery.
 * Experience leading others and managing multiple high-priority workstreams.
 * Strong communication skills and ability to influence across the health and social care system.
Employment details
 * Location: Main departmental office at Westport, Edinburgh. Hybrid working is the norm.
 * Flexible across NHS Lothian sites if required.
 * Permanent, full‑time position, Agenda for Change Band 7.
