Overview
Is willing to undertake training in medication management and keep competencies up to date. Ensuring the medication for children is given to the child in compliance with our standard operating procedures. This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
Responsibilities
* Lead a shift whilst leading by example to the team and children/young people.
* Undertake personal care, administration of medication and sleeping in between shifts, for which you receive an enhancement.
* Work with the team to ensure all children and young people are given the opportunity to gain new positive experiences and social experiences that are inclusive for all.
* Communicate with transparency.
* Have awareness of the Children\'s Home (England) Regulations 2015 and can put this into practice.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Has completed or is willing to undertake the Diploma level 4 in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
* Can put training and knowledge into practice.
* Has excellent time management skills with a non-bias approach when on shift.
About The Lodge
The Lodge offers residential breaks for children in Kent from the age of 12 to 18 years old, who have learning disabilities and/or Autism, and will have some additional support needs. These may include health related needs, mental health, behaviours of concern, and help with everyday tasks.
