Phlebotomy Grade Band 3 Contract Permanent – full time 37.5 hours per week (including weekends). Job ref 153-CO05955.
Employer: University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust – site: Royal Bournemouth Hospital and cross‑site working.
Main Responsibilities
* Perform venepuncture on adults in a friendly, efficient and professional manner in inpatient and outpatient settings.
* Provide training, support and leadership to phlebotomists, acting as a role model under the guidance of the senior lead phlebotomist.
* Prioritise workload effectively to provide a continuous service across the Trust.
Qualifications
* Must be numerate and literate with a good command of written English.
* College or university qualifications.
Experience
* Previous phlebotomy experience within a patient setting.
* Evidence of good communication skills.
* 1 year’s phlebotomist experience.
* Completed a venepuncture course.
Additional Information
Staff will be required to work flexibly across all Trust locations and shifts, including weekends and bank holidays. The standard shift pattern is Monday to Friday 06:30–16:30 and weekends 07:00–12:00. The role may involve long periods of standing and walking.
