Lead tanker offloading operations at the GWMC Treatment Plant, ensuring top-tier safety, environmental, and compliance standards. As a Shift Offloading Chemist, you'll work hands-on with a small, skilled team to keep operations running smoothly and efficiently, delivering exceptional service to our customers while optimising plant performance.
What you'll be doing:
1. Lead critical operations - take charge of tanker offloading, waste processing, and treatment plant activities, ensuring every job meets permit and compliance standards.
2. Inspire and guide the team - direct plant operatives, coordinate drivers, keep traffic moving safely, and step in for the Shift Manager when needed.
3. Champion safety and compliance - uphold health, safety, environmental, and housekeeping standards while maintaining accurate, compliant records.
4. Drive efficiency - minimise delays, boost productivity, resolve maintenance issues, and help optimise plant performance.
5. Work collaboratively - partner with chemists, operators, and other teams to deliver analysis, improve processes, and develop site capabilities.
Qualifications:
* Minimum HNC in Chemistry or a related science discipline.
* Reliable and dependable, someone we can count on to keep operations safe, compliant, and efficient.
* A team player who takes ownership and delivers on commitments.
* Tech-savvy, confident with computers and quick to learn new systems.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and face-to-face.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Hands-on waste management or heavy industry experience, especially in technical or operational roles.
* First Aid at Work certification.
* Chemical awareness training.
