Summary
Freedom Networks is seeking a candidate capable of carrying out LV & HV switching, isolation, earthing, identification of work points, and issuing safety documentation for construction and asset replacement projects on the distribution network.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Planning outages, producing switching programmes, and liaising with System Control.
2. Making dead, isolating, and earthing high voltage electrical networks.
3. Ensuring a safe working environment during high voltage operations.
4. Identifying and releasing apparatus for work through Safety Documents and Permits to Work.
5. Performing high voltage testing and fault location.
6. Re-energising the network post-work.
7. Ensuring on-site employees adhere to SHE policies and safety instructions.
8. Implementing safety rules, instructions, and procedures for Freedom and customers.
9. Preparing project files in accordance with company policy and CDM Regulations.
10. Conducting Risk Assessments at all project stages as per company standards.
11. Maintaining statutory records, certificates, licenses, and notifications.
12. Promoting a safety culture.
13. Planning and overseeing work activities for timely completion.
14. Completing accurate records such as as-builts and work sheets.
15. Coordinating shutdowns and Permits to Work with control centres.
16. Collaborating with site managers, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
17. Developing and mentoring trainees.
Candidate requirements:
* Experience with SAP duties on 11kV - 132kV networks.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* HNC/Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Current/Recent SAP authorisation on UKPN network at 11kV - 132kV.
